Laura Timmins has a degree in biology, she uses colored and translucent polymer clays, which are blended and layered together to construct the intricate patterning in each piece. Patterns often contain gold or silver leaf and other inclusions embedded in translucent clay. Thin slices of each pattern are then applied to a base form, creating a rich polymer collage (text from her statement page)

Designer Canes By Tamara - this is real unique caning!

Tamara creates tiny canes and sell them as canes, jewlery, greeting cards and more. I asked her by email if she has a special way to reduce these unique figures and she replied: I only use my hands for reducing the Canes. It takes a very long time. But the results are wonderful!

Mokume Gane!

Mokume is a mixed-metal laminate with distinctive layered patterns. Literally translating as "wood eye (i.e., burl) metal", the name was borrowed from one type of pattern welding used to forge katana blades. As another recent variation, has also been used to describe similarly-patterned laminations among different colors of polymer art clay.
